American Idol is a competition of American freshmen who had their first season in June 2002. The program, part of the Idol series, arose from the British version, Pop Idol, a competition designed to determine the best singer in the competition. American Idol has become the musical program with the greatest publicity in the United States. The format is as the three judges who criticize the performance of candidates to facilitate the vote of the public.
